Dance Synergy At Ashland Temple Fundraiser

NEHTI committees for Youth Cultural & Educational Programs and Devotee Liaison are having a fundraiser for the temple by presenting a cultural program at the Sri Lakshmi Temple. Several prominent dance teachers in and around Boston have risen to the occasion by donating their time, talent, expertise and dedication to the arts and presenting a spectacular dance extravaganza titled Nritya Sangamam.

This will be the first time ever these teachers have collaborated in this effort. Dance teachers who will be performing are Mrs. Neena Gulati, Mrs. Ranjani Saigal, Mrs. Meena Subramanyam, Mrs. Sridevi Thirumalai, Mrs. Jayshree Bala Rajamani and Mrs. Sowmya Ramanathan.

The teachers will be performing traditional items. While few items will be performed solo, a few including an unusual Tillana in Desh ragam will be a joint presentation. They will be ably supported by a live orchestra of well known musicians, Vocalists Mrs. Savita Rao and Mr. Raj Narayanan, Mrs. Durga Krishnan on Veena, Mr. Gaurishankar Chandrashekhar on Mridangam, and Natuvangam by Mrs. Roja Kannan and Mrs. Janani Swamy.

Program starts with a social hour, ticket sales & pickup at 3:00 p.m. with snacks and soft drinks. The main program will begin at 4:00 p.m. sharp. Free dinner after the dance program!
