Thank you to all who have already registered for Bala Vihar and Language classes!

Online classes for Fall 2021 will begin Sunday, September 12th. Bala Vihar, Language & Satsang, will all be held online, and we will follow the same Sunday schedule as the last school year. Please check out our website for timings and the Bala Vihar Calendar.

If you have not yet registered, please do so here. After registration, you will receive details about connecting to the Bala Vihar, Language, & Satsang classes via Zoom.

Discounted Registration Fees
In keeping with our Mission pledge, we stand as one family with our community and have made the decision to continue to offer the 25% discount ($200 off) off our regular program fees for the 2021-2022 school year.
In addition, please spread the word to your family and friends so that they can take advantage of the discounted fees and online classes. Please feel free to forward this email to them, so that they can also register as soon as possible. More information specifically about the value-based education that Bala Vihar provides can be found here: https://chinmaya-boston.org/bala-vihar/

Financial Hardship Support
As has always been the case, Chinmaya Mission Boston continues to have a needs-blind policy. If the registration fee poses a financial burden for your family, please email cmproject@gmail.com. Your request will be handled confidentially.

  • You can find the Arati songs, Chinmaya Mission Pledge, and Birthday song in this document. Please have it accessible during assembly.

Zoom Etiquette
While you will be attending the online classes from the safety and comfort of your home, we do have some rules that we would like all families to follow while in a Zoom session. Below are some dos and don’ts that we would like parents to go over with their children.
  1. Children should be punctual; they should join five minutes before the start time and attend until the class ends.
  2. Sit in a QUIET and clean place (study or prayer room if possible) with good lighting and minimum disturbances or distractions.
  3. Ensure a good internet/wi-fi connection for your devices to avoid lag and distractions.
  4. Always join the class with video ON. Be sure teachers can see your full face clearly.
  5. Keep audio on MUTE. Unmute only when you are required to speak.
  6. Use appropriate headsets to avoid distraction to yourself and others
  7. Keep your device fully charged. Use a stand/support for your device for stable video. Do not frequently move the device as it can distract the teacher and other participants.
  8. Balavihar is a place of learning and worship, so please dress appropriately and be presentable as you do for regular Balavihar. No pajamas!
  9. Likewise, NO eating during class! Finish breakfast/snack before you join the class.
  10. Children should be prepared, with their notebook, textbooks, pencil, etc. as instructed by the teacher.
  11. Respect for Self is Respect for Others. Children should be attentive and respectful in class. Use the "raise your hand" (feature) and wait for their turn before speaking and “mute” your device when not speaking
  12. Use the chat feature as a tool to ask questions to the teachers, not as a distraction.
  13. Be active and refrain from multitasking while you are in the class. Do NOT walk around, do NOT engage in other side conversations or activities while you are in class.
  14. Parents should be accessible to help your child if needed.
  15. Treat these sessions with respect just like the regular onsite classes.
  16. Restrict conversations to only the Bala Vihar curriculum and related topics.

If you have questions about any of the above information, please contact Padmini Narayan at pnar98@yahoo.com.
