South Indian actor/director Revathy is back with a new film Phir Milenge, where she tackles the sensitive subject of the deadly disease ‘AIDS’. She will direct the film that stars starring Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Shilpa Shetty.

Shilpa plays Tamanna and Salman Rohit, a couple whose life is turned upside down when a tragedy occurs. Abhushek plays Tarun, lawyer who helps them. It is rumored that the film bears resemblance to the acclaimed Hollywood film ‘ Philadelphia’ where Tom Hanks played a man dying of AIDS and Denzel Washington his lawyer.

Revathy’s earlier film 'Mitr- My friend', starring Shobhana won the actress National Award.

Meghana Naidu of ‘ Kaliyon Ka Chaman’ has been replaced by another actress in ‘Husn’. Reportedly, the starlet’s starry tantrums prompted this move by the producers. Her earlier release was Hawas.

Karan Johar! The man is full of energy or what? The successful film director is now planning a TV talk show called Kofee with Karan. The show will have two actor invites in each episode and 26 episodes are being recorded of the show.

Dev Benegal maintains that Shekhar Kapur is guilty of copyright infringement. He is suing Kapur for $ 60 million, claiming that Kapur’s Paani shares a close resemblance to Benegal’s Split Wide Open. Kapur’s futuristic film is based on water famine in Mumbai. Split Wide Open co- producer Manmohan Shetty is keeping mum about the hoopla.

Julia Roberts is pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, reports day. Roberts, 36, has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder, 35 for two years. It is also reported that Roberts’ family has a history of Twin births.

Kajol’s dad Shomu Mukherjee suffered a mild heart attack recently. He was treated at Mumbais Breach Candy Hospoital after he was rushed there followintg complaints of chest pain. Shomu has previously suffered a similar ailment.

Indira- A Tryst with destiny may be shelved for the moment for lack of funds. Producer Nitin Keni was hoping to release the film on November 19 to coincide with Indira Gandhi’s Birthday but he is a few Crores short of his proposed 25 Crore budget. Manisha Koirala is essaying the role of Gandhi.

Actress Padmini Kolhapuri who retired from film about 12 years ago will act in director Karan Razdan’s thriller ‘ Eight’. The film also stars Gulshan Grover, Rani Raj Kumar, daughter of the late actor Raj Kumar, and features Rajiv Tara in the lead. Padmini is supposedly thrilled to be back before the camera and hopes to take a break from rearing her son Priyankh and other household responsibilities. Her husband, producer Tutu Sharma is all for her donning grease paint again. You go girl!

In the Tamil version of Munnabhai MBBS, Kamal plays Munnabhai, Prabhu, his close pal Circuit (played brilliantly by Arshad Warsi in the Hindi original) and Prakash Raj, Boman Irani's role as the dean of the medical college.
Kamal is still on the look out for a senior actor to play his dad and is hoping that director K Balachander will help out by acting in the film. Sunil Dutt played Sunju’s dad in Munnabhai. The female lead is young actress Sneha.

Producer Yash Johar, father of Bollywood whiz kid Karan Johar passed away recently. Johar senior had produced such blockbusters as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and K3G. He was 78.
