Chinmaya Mission Boston in the Spotlight
Chinmaya Mission Pledge

 A panacea for all times!!

At the Inaugural Mass of President Joseph Biden, on the January 20th, Chinmaya Mission Pledge was read along with selected verses from the Bhagavad Gita.

The pledge was penned by Swami Chinmayananda in a matter of minutes when the Mission was in its infancy. Every sentence of the pledge is a reminder to reset people’s thinking for the welfare of all.

The pledge starts with the sentence “We stand as one family bound to each other with love and respect”. These great qualities of love and respect hold not only a family, but the society and nations together as well.  The underlying foundation for love and respect is the sense of oneness we have with all. Without that common bond, it is hard for love and respect to be spontaneous and natural.

The message of Vedanta shows us the path to understand and live with the wisdom of oneness.

“To produce more than what we consume and giving more than what we take” is yet another great message in the pledge. Merely saying “I have studied Vedanta and I understand the scriptures” is not enough. That wisdom also enables our own growth and unfoldment, and makes us positive contributors to the society.

Loving service to all is the culmination of the study of Vedanta!

We see that Swami Chinmayananda’s message through the Pledge of the Mission can heal any individual, family, society and nation at all times. Such a living brings peace, unity and harmony to all!

Love!! Peace!!
