IANH Youngsters Entertain Seniors At Hillsborough County Nursing Home

Children and young adults from the India Association of New Hampshire (IANH) entertained the guests at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown NH on Saturday May 8. The program included a variety of classical and folk dances from India. The staff at the Nursing Home made necessary arrangements to accommodate several guests who for the first time enjoyed a cultural program from different regions of India. NH Senator Lou D’Allesandro applauded the good work of IANH during his address to the audience. IANH organized a similar event in March 2001.

Amritha Mangalat performed Piraiyanium Peruman Bharatanatyam Padam. This was followed by dance “Mahive” by Monica and Tamanna Gandhi from the movie “Kal Ho Na Ho.” Then there was a dance “Jhumka Ghira Re” from the movie “Mera Saya” by Anjana Mangalat. Tej Putcha performed “Devi Kirthi” Kuchipudi dance. The entertainment concluded with a nice gypsy dance called “Korathi” by Amritha Mangalat and Meghna Chandra. These children won the hearts of many who attended the entertainment on the eve of Mother’s Day.
