College & Career Workshop - Multiple Pathways to Success:

Future Trends in Education and Careers
 

When: Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 1 – 5:00 PM via Zoom

The IAL School Committee’s fifth annual workshop will inform students and the community about new and emerging trends in education and the workplace that will affect their journeys to college and career, and share tools and mindsets to better help them navigate their journeys in ways that are authentic to their unique selves. Participants will get to hear from a panel of experts in a variety of fields that consist of professionals, LHS alumni, and students, as well as get the opportunity to engage in smaller breakout discussions based on their areas of interest.

                                       Event Schedule

Panel Discussion 1:00-2:30 pm

All are welcome to view the panel discussion webinar and ask questions. 

·         The keynote address will be given by Professor Sanjay Sarma, co-author of The Inversion Factor: How to Thrive in the IOT Economy, on the board of the MOOC provider edX as a representative of MIT and the recipient of many prestigious awards. 

·         Other panelists include State Representative Michelle Ciccolo and successful experts in the fields of:

·         Medical/Biotech/Pharma

·         CS/AI/Data Analytics/Cybersecurity

·         Entrepreneurship; Social Media/Communications

·         Government; Politics/Public Service/Non-Profit

·         Education/College Admissions and more

Topic Discussions at 3:00 & 4:00 pm

Register for one breakout room session where you can meet in small groups with industry leaders and subject matter experts. Breakout rooms will cover many topics and professions similar to those offered by panelists and even more including finance, robotics, and more as well as LHS seniors who will discuss the college application process during COVID.

If (your child or) you are in upper middle school or high school, this workshop is for you!
