Aaroh, The Northeastern Indian Ensemble Performs "Yun Hi Chala" For A Fundraiser

Press Release
07/09/2020

For the first time, five batches of Aaroh(2016-2020), Northeastern University’s Indian Ensemble come together to produce a melody in unison as one voice. Led and organized by Bagwat Krishnan, the ensemble features 24 singers and musicians who performed and released “Yun Hi Chala” from Swades(2004) on Facebook as a fundraiser effort. "Staying far away from homeland and family in difficult times like these, we try to stay informed of the events by reading the news and all stories and images that we see are worrying. So we chose to perform this song to provide hope and optimism to people and wanted to do our bit to support the disadvantaged elderly community in India in such dire situations. All proceeds collected through this video will go directly to HelpAge India, a non-profit based out of Delhi through Facebook. Even a small contribution goes a long way. We need all your support to make this youngsters-led effort a success", says Bagwat.

Bagwat is a renown carnatic keyboardist and performs in events for leading Indian associations in the New England area.
