Here is Shankara's  Brief Biography:

1232nd  Birth Anniversary of    Adi ShankaracharyA      आदि शङ्कराआचार्य  27th-28th. April  2020   (Monday-Tuesday )

Every Hindu will Remember and celebrate Adi Shankaracharya today because He  is why the “ Vedic sanātan Hindu Dharma” in India exists today.
He was
• Born 788 th CE Kalady Kerala
• Left his body: Age 32, 820 CE Kedarnāth ,
He is considered as Avatār of Lord Shiva himself .

When Vedas were difficult for even the intellectuals of those times to understand because of the complexity of the Sanskrit language, he mastered Veda , Upanishad , Brahma sutra etc. by age 16,  written many bhāsyas, treaties , and stotras  and traveled all over a India by  age 32 and single-handedly restored the “Vedic sanātan Dharma” and “Advaita Vedanta”  to its peak form  in a very short period of time.

One of his famous statement
“Brahm Satya- Jagat Mithya”
The 20th verse of Brahmagyānān avali mālā:

ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या
जीवो ब्रह्मैव नापरः ।
अनेन वेद्यं सच्छास्त्रमिति
वेदान्तडिण्डिमः ॥ २०॥

 it teaches how to discriminate between what is नित्य और अनित्य
“eternal and the temporal things” ;

Shankaracharya  explained that
“ब्रहमन -Brahman alone shines as different names and forms in जगत-Jagat ( world).

All activities including everything are nothing but  à¤¬à¥à¤°à¤¹à¥à¤® “Brahman”.

Shankaracharya explained that  a निराकार, निर्गुण “formless divine” i.e. “nirguna brahman” being the only hidden reality, in  all duality & polarity of world as we see it..

 Ultimate truth is  à¤¬à¥à¤°à¤¹à¥à¤® “Brahman”, the one  that is beyond time, space, and causation I.e. नित्य.

What appears as “Mass” to our senses is nothing but “energy“
E= MC Square   (InStine )

At subatomic level our body , any mass or this vast universe which for practical purposes appears real is  â€“  almost entirely, 99.9999999 percent empty space.

That means that only about 0.0000000000000000000042 percent of the universe contains any matter. The universe is a pretty empty place. And that matter is nothing but  energy and empty space more then solid in every object..

“World emerged from nothingness and will disappear in nothingness “

“Advaita Vedanta”  à¤…द्वैत वेदान्त is commonly misapprehended as an “intellectual philosophy”, whereas it is quite practical,
seeking to awake
“discrimination  à¤µà¤¿à¤µà¥‡à¤• (viveka) between “what is Permenent  à¤¨à¤¿à¤¤à¥à¤¯ and what is temporary अनित्य  and that discrimination that leads us to Self-realization.”

The limitless higher Self i.e. Brahman cannot be comprehended by mind.

“Transcending the mind” is the path of recognizing our ultimate essence, of Brahman.

For all practical purposes it is through our senses and mind , Jagat ( World) is  or appear different than Brahman and real.

But to see and think that Jagat( World) is separate from Brahm is मिथ्या-Mithya or ignorance.

Brahm Satya- Jagat Mithyā
ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या
