03/27/2020 Problem 1: Let's say an infectious disease, like COVID-19, spreads by doubling the number of cases every 4 days. If there are 5 cases on day 1 how many cases will be there after 40 days. Problem 2: Due to social distancing, an infected person only spreads the disease to 1.25 new people every 4 days.
