Sudhir Parikh
12/12/2019

Geeta Jayanti was on Dec 8th.  SATSANG is celebrating with Geeta Jayanti Bhajans along with Bhajans of UNITY of Religions as promoted by Bhagavan Sri Sathya SaiBaba.  All are welcome to join on Dec 15th Sunday from 1:30 PM.

THE BHAGAWAD GITA
SIMPLIFIED

GEETASAR -  ESSANCE (NECTOR)

 I.  ETERNITY (Permanence) of SOUL:
•     Whatever happens is for our Good.
•     Whatever is happening is for our own good.
•     Whatever will happen is also be for our own good. Let it just happen!
•     Why are we worrying unnecessarily?  Why are we afraid?   Who can hurt Us?  Our soul is neither born nor does it die.
•     Why are we crying over that which is lost? We have come into this world with nothing and we will leave this world with nothing.
•     What we have today, may belong to someone else to-morrow.
•     If we believe that these worldly possessions belong to us then that will be the cause of our unhappiness (misery).

II. Instantaneous Destructibility (Impermanence) of our Body:

•     Transformation is the law of Nature.  What we call death is really the beginning of life.  One moment, we could be king and the next, we could be pauper.  Mine - thine, young-old, eliminate these thoughts as, all belongs to us and we belong to all.
•    Neither this body belongs to us, nor do we belong to Body.   The Body is made of five elements: namely, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether (Sky) and after death body returns to these five elements.
•    But, this Soul is eternal, so then what are we?

III. Inevitability of
Nishkam (Selfless Action) Karma:

Qualifiers:  Action taken
•    1.  Without any attachment or aversion (Raag & Dwesh,
Love & Hate, Likes & Dislikes.)  But as it is our duty!
       (Duty bound Actions),
•    2.  Without expectation of any fruits of our action,
•    3.  For the Benefit of Humanity,
•    4.  Without any sense of Ego or “I am the doer.”

NOTE:   Any work performed with dutiful, devotional attitude in the name of God, in service to God, we get liberated from fear, worry, misery, mourning for ever and will experience the joyful (Blissful) state …….

IV.   Tasteless Joys in Life:
•    Once we have experienced the nectarous joy of liberated ones, the pleasure in pursuit of petty joys in life becomes tasteless.
•    Bhagvan Shree Satya Sai Baba says:   Enjoy means End the petty joys.

May God bless us !!!!!

Note:  This translation & rearrangement of thoughts is based upon my limited understanding and interpretation of Geeta Essence and Spiritual Discourse on Geeta Chapter 2 by Shree Hirabhai Thakkar.   - Sudhir
Original Dec 03, 1991.

All 18 Chapters of Geeta are called YOGA.   Sri Krishna commands Arjun to be YOGI!  Tasmad Yogi Bhavah, Arjun !  How can we understand the mysteries of Geeta 's message so that every moment of our Life becomes the practice of YOGA.

Some of the Great messages from Geeta:
1.     Yogah Karneshu Kaushalam !  Yoga is that in which we perform our Duties with Dexirity and to the best of our abilities.

2.    Samatvam Yogah Uchyate.   Maintaining Equanimity in any and all circumstances – in success or Failure is YOGA!

3.    According to Sri Morari Bapu….  This is the whole Essence of Geeta: Sarva Dharman Paritajya, Maamekam Sharanam Vrajah;
Aham Twaam Sarv Paapebhyo Mox-Isyaami; Maa Suchah.
Perform all your Duties with detached attitude, I will exonerate you of all your Sins and Liberate you!  Do not Worry !

4.    Geeta Addhay 8 Shloak  5:  As you leave the Body with last breath, thinking of me (Sri Krishna), will merge in Me.  Do Not Doubt.   Meaning there is no more Birth & Death cycle.  One ,ay need to use the will power at that time.

5.     Few Shloak down,  he said, that if we think of OM  as we draw the last breath, we will get better next life for our continuous spiritual journey.
