Registration Open for Fall Classes at the Center for Arts and Wellness

With days growing shorter, nights becoming chillier, and schools reopening all are on the lookout for indoor activities, and enrichment and creative programs for us and our children. And what better option than the Center for Arts and Wellness located in Westborough at the heart of the Metrowest area. It has become an attractive community space for families and people of all age groups and interests.

All of the programs offered by the Center are supported by carefully selected and well-established practitioners and teachers, who bring a unique combination of finesse, expertise and skill that sets their programs apart. With the help of such incredible talent, their vision to provide the community with a wider array of classical and applied art and wellness related classes and services all under a single roof has become a reality. People in the area have come to rely on this Center for high quality and reliable classes for kids and adults alike, from the young 4-year old to the retiree.

Marking its 3-year anniversary this September, this fall the Center boasts of over 20 different types of classes in Music, Dance, Fine Arts, Fitness and Wellness, and Creative Education. For the upcoming Fall Session they have introduced several new classes and class times! Their team has been busy with planning, coordinating, and aligning all classes to offer families many more choices of class types, days and times. Families will find the upcoming session exciting, fun, and invigorating!

For MUSIC, the Center has introduced lessons in the saxophone, clarinet, and song writing to their already long roster of classes.

o   Mridangam on Mondays, taught by Mr. Gaurishankar Chandrashekhar

o   Guitar on Thursdays and Saturdays, taught by Mr. Phil Kaplan

o   Piano on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays taught by Mr. Matthew Zakhary Johnson and Mr. Jimi Zimmardi

o   Tabla on Tuesdays and Sundays by Mr. Ajit Acharya

o   Hindustani Vocal on Mondays and Saturdays, taught by Ms. Vandana Rao

o   Saxophone, Clarinet and Song Writing on Tuesdays and Saturdays by Mr. Jimi Zimmardi

For DANCE, they have an exciting line up of new classes and class timings.

o   Kathak on Saturdays, taught by Ms. Moumita Banerjee

o   Bharatanatyam on Tuesdays and Saturdays, taught by Ms. Hema Iyengar

o   Bollywood Dance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays taught by Ms. Nikita Rao, Mr. Jai Kishan, Ms. Nivetha Ravichandran, and Ms. Priya Asthana

In CREATIVE EDUCATION, they have two new and exciting offerings in addition to ongoing language classes!

o   Public Speaking Club on Thursdays, taught by Mr. Paresh Motiwala

o   Tutoring in French on Thursdays and Saturdays by Mr. Phil Kaplan

o   SAT Preparation and Math tutoring

o   Python Coding

o   Bal Vihaar-Hindi classes and Indian Culture hosted at the Center on Sundays, organized by VHPA

o   Telugu classes hosted at the Center on Fridays, organized by Manabadi

In FINE ARTS, they have brought on board a talented new teacher and are offering

o   Painting – Warli Art on Saturdays (Sept 28-)ct 19), taught by Ms. Shreshthi Mehta

To complement these classes, the Center promotes broader WELL-BEING and FITNESS by offering classes for kids and adults that create better health and wellness.

o   Vinyasa Flow Yoga for Adults on Sundays, taught by Monisha Shekhar

o   Yoga for Teens-Coping with Stress on Tuesdays, taught by Ms. Shubhada Wavikar

o   Bolly-X Fitness class on Saturdays, taught by Archana Menon

o   Meditation on Saturdays, by Brahmakumaris

o   Zumba on Tuesdays, taught by Z-Mann Manny Orejola

Several other classes are in the works, such as Carnatic Vocal, Sitar, Flute, Cooking classes, Henna Design classes, and Reiki sessions. Stay tuned for details coming soon!

The Center has effectively launched highly invigorating and fun-filled collection of programs and classes in various arts as well as academic and extracurricular areas. They have become the go-to-place for various Arts and Enrichment programs in the Metro-West area of Boston.
