Braj Mandir in Holbrook, MA will celebrate Krishna Janmashtami on August 24, 2019 from 4:30pm – 1am.   We invite you to come experience all-encompassing joy during this major festival.  Around 3000 people are expected to visit throughout the day.  The celebration will glorifiy Sri Krishna on his Appearance Day with live kirtan music, blessed vegetarian food (prasadam), the bathing (Abishek) of Sri Radha Keshav Bihari Ju, and multiple Aarti ceremonies.  The deities Radha and Krishna will be seated in a fragrant Flower Bangla which captures the enchanting ambiance of Vrindavan, India.  The evening will end after midnight with a Maha Aarti.  This Krishna Janmashtami Festival is free and all are welcome to attend.

Krishna’s teachings are all-encompassing.   They do not discriminate against race, gender, nationality, socio-economic level or culture.  Braj Mandir supports that Krishna’s teaching are available to all. The whole world is one family.  There are five portals to discover Krishna’s all-encompassing joy.  One is Kirtan.  This is call and response singing supported with Indian instruments like the harmonium, mridangam drum and kartels.  Kirtan chanting can be both blissful and ecstatic.  It can lead to a connection to divine love in the heart. At the festival kirtan wallahs from all over New England and beyond will lead the Yugal Maha Mantra along with melodious bhajans that will bring you into the transcendental mood of Vrindavan. Two is prasadam or vegetarian food cooked with divine love all by volunteers.  Three is celebrating all-encompassing joy by attending jubilant festivals.  Four is practicing meditations. Five is being in the present of like-minded people focused on Krishna’s teachings.

The Braj Mandir community is looking forward to welcoming people from all different walks of life to join us in this devotional celebration on August 24th at 4:30pm in Holbrook, MA.
