Press Release 08/08/2019
Wholistic Health Alliance announces relaunch of
Youth Brigade initiative WHA
Founder Dr. Pratibha Shah, envisioned and launched Youth Brigade in 2017 with
the vision to engage and educate youth in topics around health. The goal was to
not only inform the Youth but also empower them in matters of health. Shah says
‘I believe healthy habits should be inculcated young. A healthy childhood and
youth ensures a healthier and productive adult. The Youth Brigade platform will
provide an opportunity for our Youth to meet periodically, in an environment
that fosters conversations around health, in their own ‘lingo’ within their own
‘tribe’, inspire and support one another, hopefully entrenching them soundly onto
a healthier life through education, interaction and role modelling.
Participating and contributing in non-profit activities allows them to give
back to their community as well. So this initiative is a win-win for the Youth
on many fronts.’ The newly appointed Youth Brigade President, Anish
Sundaram, a senior in Acton High School, will be engaging more youths remotely and
virtually in this relaunch effort. Physical attendance is highly encouraged in
all YB events. But keeping in mind the busy schedule of our teens, which can
become a barrier for in person attendance, Anish plans on using technology
creatively to achieve what we have set out to. The cooking workshop will be
recorded and shared with YB members via the WHA YouTube channel. Participants will be encouraged to watch,
comment and share feedback through a set format. WHA gives community
hour certificates to participating youth, upon request. Event
