 Press Release 07/17/2019 348th  Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana Mahotsava August 17th,  2019  Pujyaya Raghavendraya | Sathya Dharma Rathayacha | An  Invitation from New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana With the  blessings of the almighty, New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana  (NESRSB) is pleased to announce and invite everyone to participate with their  families and friends in the celebration of 348th Sri Raghavendra  Swamy Aradhana Mahotsava on August 17th, 2019.   Shri  Raghavendra Swamy is a 16th century saint and is believed to be the incarnation  of Prahallada – a great devotee of Lord Vishnu.   He entered Jeeva Samadhi at Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh and is  believed to live in a metaphysical form for 700 years - Devotees continue to  feel his presence in many different ways and considered to be one of the most  compassionate saint who fulfills devotees’ wishes like Kalpavriksha and Kamadhenu  in this Kali Yuga. Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana is celebrated in the holy hindu month of  Shravana Maasa. This year we are blessed to have “Madhyaradhana†coincide with  the weekend celebrations. On this special day, poojas are performed throughout the  day, including Panchamruta Abhisheka, followed by Alankara, Kanakabhiseka, a  grand Pallaki Seva in a procession around the facility, Maha Mangalaharti,  Hastodaka and Alankara Pankti and Teertha Prasada.    People from all walks of life attend this event on this day to receive  blessings from Sri Raghavendra Swamy. On this day, Akhanda Parayana of Sri  Raghavendra Swamy Stotra, Lakshmi Shobhane along with many Vedic chantings will  be recited throughout the event.     Following the morning pooja, Parimala Prasada (from Mantralayam) will  be served during Teertha Prasada - a grand festive lunch, prepared onsite and served  on a banana leaf in a traditional manner – people can choose to sit on the  floor or on the tables and enjoy the teertha prasada and festivities.   This year the grandeur celebrations are spilling over into the evening  with a series of cultural events including Nrutya Seva (classical dances),  Gaana Seva (classical music) and Vaadya Seva (classical instruments) are  offered by renowned artists and children to Sri Raghavendra Swamy.  The day will end with offering Rayaru, Unjal  Seva  in a unjal/jhoola, handcrafted by  volunteers of NESRSB here in New England, followed by Phalahara.  Devotees can participate and perform various sevas throughout the day  such as Panchamruta Abhiseka, Kanakabhiseka, Pallaki Seva, Hastodaka (Anna  Daana), Alankara Brahmana Seva, Sarva Seva and Sampoorna Seva.  Over the past three years hundreds of  devotees from all across the New England, Midwest and Canada have attended this  spiritual event.
