An Invitation from New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana

With the blessings of the almighty, New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana (NESRSB) is pleased to announce and invite everyone to participate with their families and friends in the celebration of 348th Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana Mahotsava on August 17th, 2019.

Shri Raghavendra Swamy is a 16th century saint and is believed to be the incarnation of Prahallada – a great devotee of Lord Vishnu.  He entered Jeeva Samadhi at Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh and is believed to live in a metaphysical form for 700 years - Devotees continue to feel his presence in many different ways and considered to be one of the most compassionate saint who fulfills devotees’ wishes like Kalpavriksha and Kamadhenu in this Kali Yuga.

Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana is celebrated in the holy hindu month of Shravana Maasa. This year we are blessed to have “Madhyaradhana” coincide with the weekend celebrations. On this special day, poojas are performed throughout the day, including Panchamruta Abhisheka, followed by Alankara, Kanakabhiseka, a grand Pallaki Seva in a procession around the facility, Maha Mangalaharti, Hastodaka and Alankara Pankti and Teertha Prasada.

People from all walks of life attend this event on this day to receive blessings from Sri Raghavendra Swamy. On this day, Akhanda Parayana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Stotra, Lakshmi Shobhane along with many Vedic chantings will be recited throughout the event.

Following the morning pooja, Parimala Prasada (from Mantralayam) will be served during Teertha Prasada - a grand festive lunch, prepared onsite and served on a banana leaf in a traditional manner – people can choose to sit on the floor or on the tables and enjoy the teertha prasada and festivities.

This year the grandeur celebrations are spilling over into the evening with a series of cultural events including Nrutya Seva (classical dances), Gaana Seva (classical music) and Vaadya Seva (classical instruments) are offered by renowned artists and children to Sri Raghavendra Swamy.  The day will end with offering Rayaru, Unjal Seva  in a unjal/jhoola, handcrafted by volunteers of NESRSB here in New England, followed by Phalahara.

Devotees can participate and perform various sevas throughout the day such as Panchamruta Abhiseka, Kanakabhiseka, Pallaki Seva, Hastodaka (Anna Daana), Alankara Brahmana Seva, Sarva Seva and Sampoorna Seva.  Over the past three years hundreds of devotees from all across the New England, Midwest and Canada have attended this spiritual event. NESRSB invites everyone to attend the Aradhana on August 17th, 2019 and receive Sri Raghavendra Swamy’s blessings.

In order make every devotee’s experience very special, NESRSB requests everyone to RSVP as early as possible at https://www.ne-srsbrundavan.org/aradhana-rsvp.html. It will immensely help us to coordinate all activities.
