India Tourism Road Show - Incredible India

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, New York office organized an India Tourism Road Show on the theme Incredible India at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, Boston, MA, on June 25, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a hall full of enthusiastic participants from more than 30 tour and travel groups from India and 70 tour groups from USA. India Tourism aims to increase tourist footfalls in the country, facilitate tourism partnerships and create more business opportunities by holding face to face interactions and sharing Incredible India's new campaign films about various destinations and their special features that certainly rejuvenate the tourists.

The program started at 5:00 pm, with the registration of sellers and buyers and followed by meet and greet session with welcomes refreshments. Then, B2B serious interaction took place on every seller’s tables between the buyers and the sellers in the tourism field. Smt Priya Ji, and Shri Sunil Kumar, Assistant Directors, India Tourism, New York welcomed warmly all the participants of the event and local organizers and other chief invitees and dignitaries. A brief presentation about the Air India’s destinations, Schedule, and services was given by Shri Mohan Kothekar, Area Sales Manager of Air India, New York. Shri Abhishek Singh and Smt Jyoti Singh with their friends supported and managed this event very smoothly and professionally.

Smt. Meenakshi Sharma Ji, Director General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India addressed with much enthusiasm the audiences and tourism business partners to join their hands in India’s efforts and urged them to take their efforts to next level of success. She presented stunning films in between her presentation and made it very convincing and interesting to the audiences She said that India is incredible because of its beautiful mountains, lakes, seas, oceans, backwaters, natural splendor and fierce with dense greens, forests, vegetation and exotic wildlife provides tourists an enjoyable Jungle/Jeep Safaris in various wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks and visit to the rarest of animal/plant species sites.

Smt. Meenakshi Sharma Ji spoke very splendidly about special attractions and paradise like beauties of North, South, East and West India including Indian Islands - Andaman and Nicobar, Havelock Islands, Palace on wheels. She said that Indian Foods and Cousin provide the tourist an unforgettable experience and delight of various spice flavors and variety of recipes from different states of India. Further, our Trekking, Biking, Skiing, Kayaking, Paragliding, Hot Air Ballooning, White Water Rafting, Mountain Railways provide adventurous and audacious experiences and excitements to the tourists. She additionally highlighted that the historical monuments, heritage sites, temples, forts and palaces deliver the glimpses of India’s rich history, affluence, glory, grace, majesty and depth in Spirituality, Philosophy, Art, and Architecture.

India is known for its Art and Culture in the world and Indian Cultural performances such as Indian classical and folk dances, Indian classical and folk music along with Bollywood music and dances, paintings, embroidery, handicrafts offers the tourist an exceptional experience and understanding about various commonalities and differences in these areas and creates an interest in learning more about these areas. Shopping of indigenous handicrafts gives tourist an opportunity to take with them the cherished memories of those places that they visited with much interest in life. Then, with regard to Indian Fairs, Festivals and Carnivals, she said that it is impossible to think of Indian tourism without participation in the country's iconic festivals like Pushkar festivals, Mysore Dasara, Kumbha Mela, Rann Utsavs and many more.

Smt. Meenakshi Sharma Ji also mentioned that the new growing areas of India Tourism are Rejuvenate the souls through Yoga and wellness, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy and India is focusing on becoming the next Golf Tourism hub, the center of MICE and the destination for weddings with heavenly experiences.

On behalf of the Tourism India, two Door Prizes winners were picked up and distributed to the winners the amazing prizes by Smt. Meenakshi Sharma Ji as an encouragement and cheerful gesture. A sumptuous dinner was served to all the participants and audiences with much admiration and appreciation. Smt. Jyoti Singh Ji presented entertainment program to the audiences that included Kathak dance by Smt. Pooja Tiwari, Odissi dance by Smt Mouli Pal and Smt. Pooja Tiwari and her group offered very energetic Bollywood dances to various popular Hindi patriotic songs. These dancers are well-known in the New England area and teach dances to many children through their dance schools.

This event was supported by the eminent Boston Community leaders namely Brij Bhushan Ji, Suresh Sharma Ji, Dr. Balarama Singh Ji, Kaushik Patel Ji, Anil Chawla Ji, Navneet Sharma Ji. Mr. Wally Sumner, the President, the Travel Group Inc. that deals with sales, marketing travel and consultations did wonderful job as a master of ceremony of the event. Shri. Sunil Kumar Ji thanked everyone for their active participation. He also thanked profusely the local supporters, Shri Abhishek Singh and his team for making it a memorable one. He appreciated with great gratitude Shri Mohan Kothekar and Smt. Amy S Tiwari from Air India for their dynamic and self-motivated participation. Last but not least, he thanked Sheraton Boston Hotel management for all the arrangements.
