Shivalaya Temple Of Greater Boston: Vishal Bhagwati Jagran

The Shivalaya Temple of Greater Boston, Medford, MA organized Ma Vishal Bhagwati Jagran, a religious get together through Chowki on Friday, 17 May 2019 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm with a large group of spiritual devotees who were enthusiastic.

Jagran is a holy event which consists of all night or until late night kirtan of the Mother Goddess Durga where her devotees worship her by singing her praises and her blessings through devotional songs that create spiritual awakening to link up with Supreme Power. This is a very holy and devotional event that can be held any time of the year.

Temple Priest, Pt. Gangadhar Ji performed Ganapati, Navagraha and Mata Ji Sankalpam, Abhishekam, and Puja with all the Vedic rituals. Then lighted Mataji’s Akhand Jyoti with chanting of Langar Vira. Later, Ganpati and Mataji’s Vandanas were chanted in a devotional way. Then came an offering of Garlands and Mataji’s red colored Chunni, coconut, fruits, and Shringar material. A devotee who sponsored Jagran performed Aardass followed by offerings. Later, shared Mata Rani Katha in a story form. After the offering of Bhog to Mata Ji, devotees were also served with variety of snacks and hot tea.

After the snacks time, Sri Durga Temple Group, that included Smt. Neeta Jayaraman, Smt. Usha Kamal, Smt. Shashi Jain, Shri. Harsh Walia, and Shri. Ajay Sharma started singing of Mataji’s devotional songs one by one in continuity with utmost devotion. Shri. Aditya Anand, Shri. Vijay Mohan, and Shri. Hari Shanmugam accompanied the singers with their Dholaks and displayed their skills of drum beating and created a delightful sound in the shrine. At the end, Mataji’s and Jay Jagadish’s Aarti were performed.

Before the Jagran, Dr. Jay Gupta, co-founder of RxRelax and YogaCaps talked about the benefits of Seated Therapeutic Yoga and Chakra Sadhana to all the devotees. He also taught them how to do Meditation and Yoga in their every day to stay energetic and spirited. His YogaCaps is one of the early pioneers in the delivery of therapeutic yoga services in the healthcare setting. Jay Gupta is a registered community pharmacist and specializes in medication therapy management. In his daily life, he shares his scientific understanding of yoga and nature cure practices with everyone and suggests taking them as their "practice" capsules once or twice a day that takes only a few minutes of their time to perform and enhance their wellness and energy. 

Shri. Vikas Selhi not only sang with the singers but also proposed his heartfelt thanks to the sponsors of the event, namely, Shri. Pushp and Smt. Sudesh Khatri and family.  He also thanked devotees for their enthusiastic participation in the event. He also expressed his gratitude to Shri.  Jay Gupta Ji for bringing Yoga and Meditation components to the temple with upcoming events of the temple. Shri. Sudarshan Sharma Ji, Shri Devender Dutt Ji, Subhas Bansal Ji with their other dedicated team members served delicious Prasadam to all the devotees and completed the Mata Ki Chowki, with samapti.
