Raveena Tandon got hitched to distributor Anil Thadani in royal style on Sunday, Feb 22 at Udaipur's Jagmandir Palace. Decked in tons of diamonds and donning her mom’s 35-year-old lehenga the bride was a sight to behold. Bollywood biggies attending included Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Ravi Shastri and Jackie Shroff.

Ash and Sanjay Leela Bhansali had a warm huggy reunion recently. Rumor has it that after attending a press meet for Kal Ho Na Ho Ash went across to where Bhansali was shooting ‘Black’ Witnesses present couldn’t help beaming and hoping that the two would make another hit like Devdas.

Baghban was such a huge success that Mahesh Manjrekar hopes to cast Amitabh and Sharmaila Tagore in Virudh. Rumor has it that the film is based on the current political scene in India. We’ll keep you posted the moment we hear the latest about this project.

Have to give it to Yash Chopra! The latest we hear is that he has gone and bought a lake in Switzerland (to be named Yash lake). You may recall that the Swiss Government, glad with the boost to their tourism courtesy of Yash has offered him honorary Citizenship in their picturesque country.

Veteran Actor Director Goldie Anand Passes Away

Indian filmmaker and former chief of the country's film censor board Vijay (Goldie) Anand has died.
He was brought to Leelavati Hospital on February 21 and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), after he suffered a massive cardiac arrest.
Vijay Anand, the younger brother of actor/director Dev Anand was 72 and had suffered a heart attack previously.
Goldie is survived by his wife and son.
The youngest of the four Anand siblings, the oldest being noted director Chetan Anand, Goldie acted, produced and directed about 20 films. His most successful film was the 1965 film ‘Guide’, which is considered a classic. He also directed the box-office hit, Teesri Manzil . His other films included, Chupa Rustam , Blackmail , Bullet , Ram Balaram and Rajput .

His acting skills were appreciated in some of the films like Kala Bazaar , Double Cross , Haqueeqat , Barood Road , Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki and Hum Rahe Na Hum .

Two weeks ago, Goldie and Dev Anand announced a new film. Dev and Goldie had worked together to produce such hits as Jewel Thief and Johnny Mera Naam .
Three years ago Goldie became the chief of India's film censor board and was involved in a controversy when he suggested that films with explicit content be given special ratings. His ideas were met with widespread criticism and he resigned after one year.
