If you like South Asian Dance and want to see some of the most competitive dance teams in North America, don’t miss South Asian Showdown! The last nine years have sold out and this year will be no different!!!

South Asian Showdown comprises the best Fusion and Bollywood dance teams from North America! These different dance forms makeup some of the most popular dance forms in India and if you want to see which dance style wins, come check out the competition on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at the John Hancock Hall in Boston!

The concept of Showdown is to showcase the best Fusion and Hindi-Film teams on one stage.  Bollywood represents the Mumbai movie industry and the story lines that come with it.  South Asian fusion brings all styles of dance together on one stage to showcase the talents of South Asian dancers.  Bring these dance forms together in this competition and witness how explosive and entertaining South Asian dance can truly be!

South Asian Showdown, SAS for short, will have teams from all over North America competing to be crowned the Showdown Champion.  Teams from Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts will all show the Boston audience some of the best dances they have seen all year!

MIT India Conference 2019, was organized by the MIT India team. Melanie Mala Ghosh, Managing Director, MIT-India & MIT-South Asia, and Prof. S.P. Kothari, the Gordon Y Billard Professor of Accounting and Finance, MIT Sloan School of Management were the advisors of the conference. The theme of the 2019 conference was “India’s Competitive Edge” that aimed at reflecting on what unique factors have allowed India to thrive in science, sports, art, literature, and technology despite fewer resources at its disposal.
