‘Chameli’, the Kareena Kapoor, Rahul Bose starrer did not do very well at the Box Office if Bollywood BO ratings are to be believed but Chameli’s music has been embraced warmly both by critics and the public.

Sandesh Shandilya delivers a sure fire winner with Jaage Re mann kahin, a solo by the chameleon like singer Sunidhi Chauhan. The lyrics by Irshad Kamil are dreamy and are a perfect match for Sunudhis vocals. The song was picturized on a very wet-in-rain Kareena Kapoor.

Yeh lamha and 'Jaane’ are also by Sunidhi with Prof.RN Dubey and Irshad Kamil penning the lyrics respectively. Yeh Lamha is particularly pleasing with poignant lyrics and showcases the versatility of the young singer.

“Bheegi hui koi shaam voh, mahka hua koi naam voh, bin baat hi hoti hai nilam voh, mashoor hai phir bhi badnam voh, jaane hua hai aaj kya hamein na hum jaane, kyun humko yaad aaye woh"
Jaane as a solo by Sunidhi and as a duet with Udit and again with Javed Ali get full marks for originality. Udit sounds divine especially in the opening bars effortlessly switching modes and moods.

The club number Sajna We has Sunudhi sounding like Jaspinder Narula, only better. 'Soul of Chameli', the signature tune is saxophone presentation by Tala.

Chameli is unique and original and should please the most discerning listeners among us. Sandesh Shandilya is a name to watch.
Also responsible for the K3G song Suraj Hua Madhyam and the superb Bole re from Agni Varsha, his tunes are fast climbing the popularity charts in India.
