NESSP Cordially invites all devotees, far and near to join the festivities on the grand opening of the largest Shirdi Sai temple in North America as we welcome our beloved Sadguru Sri Sainath Maharaj along with Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva, Lord Duttatreya, Lord Venkateshwara Parivaar, Radha-Krishna, Lord Rama Parivaar, Vasavi Mata, Sharika Mata and the Navagrahas into their majestic new Abode. During this ongoing 12 day celebrations and Navaratri from Oct 9th to Oct 21st, we are also commemorating the centenary Maha samadhi of Sai Baba.

On Sunday, Oct 14, 2018, Shikhara Pooja & Shikhara Kumbhabhishekam will be performed at the new temple. Come join us on this blessed day for a festival of worship, celebration, music, and dance, and also to catch a glimpse of this holy sanctuary, that will serve as a majestic portal for devotees from not just New England, but also distant places to receive the Grace and Blessings of their Sadguru from Shirdi, 8,000 miles away. Kumbhabhishekam is a temple consecration ceremony conducted to purify the temple by bathing its crown, Shikhar or Gopuram in sanctified water, honey, milk, and other libations at an auspicious time accompanied by chanting and other religious rites. Devotees can participate in this ceremony by sponsoring a Kalasha, the holy waters from which will be used in purification rituals and for Abhishekam of the RajGopuram on their behalf.

We implore you to join us for the events leading to the inauguration and wholeheartedly support NESSP's service mission with your generous donations, volunteer help and goodwill.  No time is better than now.

Thought For The Day

"Ego is an evil thing. Confidence is important, but ego is something false. Humility is the way to build confience, and ego is hugely dangerous in this sport, because if you're running on ego you aren't running on good clean emotions, or cause and effect. You bypass it to support a false idea. It's all garbage, the ego is garbage." - Frank Shamrock.

Carnatic Vocal Arangetram: Hamsa Shanmugam

by Janani Swamy
The thorough grounding in fundamentals is a given when it comes to the students of Smt. Tara Anand- that in itself no mean feat. In the case of Hamsa Shanmugam, what was striking was her complete command and control throughout the 4 hour recital. There was not one moment of doubt or hesitation as she occupied the stage with the self-assurance of a seasoned musician. Hamsa has a natural ease with manodharma- the extemporaneous aspects of Carnatic music- and presented the creative elements with a sharp understanding of the many grammatical nuances that comprise the whole of the Carnatic idiom.
