Press Release

HINDI MANCH
in collaboration with Consulate General of India New York
presents

Hindi Manch Rashtriya Mahotsav

Nov 30, Dec 1 & Dec 2, 2018

Hindi Manch celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year!  What started as a small grassroots community organization to celebrate Hindi and Urdu through social, arts and literary events has now grown into a thriving organization with a strong and loyal fan following.  This is a matter of great pride for the Boston-area Indian community.

Preetesh Shrivastava, President and Founder of Hindi Manch explained, “I have always felt that Hindi and Urdu, with all its dialects throughout India, cuts across state boundaries and religious backgrounds.  Outside India, the value of celebrating Hindi is immense. It creates a deeper cultural understanding among our next generation that would otherwise be lost in translation.  Celebration of language does not have to be a somber literary meet; Hindi Manch continues to strive to make it fun and informational.   Our record of 64 successful Hindi/Urdu events, providing a creative platform for over 1000 artists including over-300 children performances is proof that we are succeeding in our mission.”

It is this success that grabbed the attention of The Consulate General of India in New York.  They encouraged Hindi Manch to expand their concept to a national level in the US.  It was this challenge that the organization decided to take, and together with The Consulate General of India, they are planning a 3-day HINDI MANCH RASHTRIYA MAHOTSAV from November 30 through December 2, 2018 in the Boston area.

The Mahotsav will take a village of over 150 committee members and volunteers to put together.  â€œIt is a proud moment for the Hindi Manch team to conduct a national event with guests from all over the US to bring synergies and celebrate our language, culture and heritage”, says Preetesh.  He adds that the success, respect and community-support the organization has earned through its signature social, arts and literary events is a direct result of the creativity and hard work of its volunteers and team members.

Anish Khanzode, Jharna Madan, Ajay Jain and Raksha Soni will be joining Preetesh to steer the large team to bring this event to fruition.   For more updates, please visit www.hindimanch.org

Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa Auditions for Hindi Manch Rashtriya Mahotsav

The Hindi Manch Rashtriya Mahotsav from November 30 to December 2 will include all the signature events that audiences have come to enjoy and like, including the Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa program.  This competitive program features singers, as singles or duets, in various age groups.  The singers choose specific Karaoke tracks of Hindi movie songs, and are judged in qualification rounds and final by an independent panel.  Singers from across the US are expected to participate in this talent competition on December 1.

Singing talent shows are quite the craze nowadays.   Whether it is for psychological or emotional gratification or for its social benefits, the Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa competition offers a perfect opportunity to all of you to try out your singing talent.  While not everyone can be a winner, the element of competitiveness does help all singers judge their positive and negative characteristics against each other.   And it helps children build accurate Hindi diction while also gaining valuable experience on how to perform on stage.

Hindi Manch will have qualification auditions for Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa on three dates, October 7, 21 and 28.   Entrants from New Hampshire and Massachusetts would be able to participate at local venues for the qualification.  Entrants from outside the local zone would also be able to enter the qualification rounds and participate via Skype.  Audition fees are only $15.  Hindi Manch gets a lot of audition requests because of the immense popularity of this program.  The demand is expected to be even more for the Rashtriya Mahotsav; for this reason, participants are requested to turn in their requests as soon as possible.
