Hindustani Vocal Music by Kaushiki Chakraborty

LearnQuest Academy of Music of Waltham, MA announces the upcoming performance by the renowned Hindustani vocalist, Kaushiki Chakraborty, on Friday September 21, 2018. Accompanying her will be the well-known master Harmonium player Shri Kedar Naphade of New Jersey, and the young tabla sensation of India, Ojas Adhiya, a rising star in his own right. It promises to be an enthralling evening of music.

The concert will begin at 7:00 PM and will be held in the Casey Theater of Regis College, Weston, MA, where LearnQuest Academy has hosted its Annual Music Festival for the past 13 years. Ms. Chakraborty, who was a part of this year’s LearnQuest Festival lineup, could not perform due to a last-minute family emergency.  LearnQuest is pleased to invite her again for this much-anticipated performance, reconnecting her with Boston's Hindustani music fans.

LearnQuest Academy is a non-profit institution that provides formal training in classical Indian music in the Boston area, and invites established artists from India for concerts and workshops. LearnQuest's patronage of both music education and artists expands audiences, crossing boundaries of culture and geography.

Kaushiki Chakraborty is among those eminent musicians whose mesmerizing performances have endeared her to audiences throughout the world.

Nashua Hosts Inaugural Multicultural Festival

"On behalf of the Cultural Connections Committee and the 2018 Nashua Multicultural Festival Planning Committee I am beyond thrilled with the enthusiasm and generous response with which the inaugural event was received. The success is even more gratifying as this was the kick off event to Nashua's Welcoming Week celebrations. We had 23 artisan and display tables, samples of food from at least 8 different local ethnic restaurants and a dozen exciting stage program of music and dance as well as an international traditional dress fashion show! This celebration of diversity brought us all together as one and as an immigrant myself it was immensely satisfying to see all the smiles. We will begin work on the next year's event shortly! We sincerely hope to see more cultures involved in the festivities in 2019!" - Deepa Mangalat.
