Chinmaya Mission Boston Will Host Its Annual Picnic

Chinmaya Mission Boston will host its annual picnic and 5K Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD) walk on Sunday, Sept. 30 at State Park in Carlisle, MA. The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.

Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development, known as CORD, is a India-based non-profit organization to help the disadvantaged transform their lives  through  self-help programs. CORD supports over 700 villages in Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, providing help to over 150,000 villagers. Program Schedule:

Registration: 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
Warm up    : 9:20 AM to 9;40 AM

Kickoff       : 9:40 AM to 10:00 AM

5K Run Start: 10:00 AM

5K Walk Start: 10:10 AM

Awarding Prizes:  11:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Picnic                  : 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

CMB members are requested to support the walk enthusiastically as they have done in the past years. You may make a donation online via the registration url,  at the center on 9/16, 9/23, Or on the day of the event (9/30)"

For the nearly 300 people from across the state of Connecticut, who had come together to celebrate their culture, traditions, and fellowship during the 10th annual Onam celebrations organized by Malayalee Association of Southern Connecticut in Trumbull, CT on September 15th, it was a way of cherishing their rich culture, while paying homage to those who had lost their lives, properties and to some, everything they ever had owned, due the devastating floods that inundated the beautiful state of Kerala and the livelihood of millions last month.
