Kiran Nath Launches Her Book Meheraban

Singer Kiran Nath who moved to Boston after having a stellar musical career in India, treated the Boston audience to a lovely musical evening filled with beautiful melodies.  The event was held at the Cary Hall Auditorium in Lexington, MA on Sunday August 26, 2018. 

Nath, who is also a composer and poet   presented several of her own compositions and also presented compositions of Faiyaz Hashmi and Hafeez Hoshiarpuri. Rajesh Pai on Tabla, William Lenderking on Guitar, M Rama Rao on Harmonium, and Dipu Deshmukh on Esraj/Sarod  provided accompaniment for Kiran Nath 

The show titled Shaam-e-Ghazal was organized by the Ghazal Fans Club and was introduced by Syed Ali Rizvi and emceed by Kumkum Pareek Malik. Kiran Nath’s children Shameek Nath , Kunal Nath and Mitali Wahidi presented a few of her compositions. Pradeep Shukla, singer and founder of Learnquest presented  ‘Phir Phool Khila Barsaat Aayee’ with a classical touch and that was delightful.

Harish Dang and Sadia Chagtai  beautifully recited two of Kiran ji’s poems The musical evening was brought to a beautiful conclusion with an energetic qwaali presented by  Parveen Minocha Anuradha Upneja, Parul Kumar, Pallavi Atale, Carol, Pankaj Shah, Preetesh Shrivastava, Sanjay Jain and  Bibek.

The book was officially launched by chief guests Jaideep Chola (Consul, Consulate General of India, New York) , Sanjay Kaul, Dr Abhaya Asthana, Puran Dang, Ranjani Saigal, Binny Dang and Deeba Hussain. KC Prahlad the Counsel General of Nepal sent his best wishes. The book is a compilation of her new poems in Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi across the ghazal, thumri, and folk genres.

The evening was a great treat for all the attendees and we look forward to more events from this great artist.
