Nashua Hosts Inaugural Multicultural Festival

"On behalf of the Cultural Connections Committee and the 2018 Nashua Multicultural Festival Planning Committee I am beyond thrilled with the enthusiasm and generous response with which the inaugural event was received. The success is even more gratifying as this was the kick off event to Nashua's Welcoming Week celebrations. We had 23 artisan and display tables, samples of food from at least 8 different local ethnic restaurants and a dozen exciting stage program of music and dance as well as an international traditional dress fashion show! This celebration of diversity brought us all together as one and as an immigrant myself it was immensely satisfying to see all the smiles. We will begin work on the next year's event shortly! We sincerely hope to see more cultures involved in the festivities in 2019!" - Deepa Mangalat.

I reminisce on the ‘Guru-Shishya’ commitment and dedication; what our young girls can achieve with their perseverance. Neha Vijay took the stage on September 9th at Scottish Museum Auditorium for her Bharatnatyam & Kuchipudi Arangetram and left the audience in awe with an exuberant performance.

For the nearly 300 people from across the state of Connecticut, who had come together to celebrate their culture, traditions, and fellowship during the 10th annual Onam celebrations organized by Malayalee Association of Southern Connecticut in Trumbull, CT on September 15th, it was a way of cherishing their rich culture, while paying homage to those who had lost their lives, properties and to some, everything they ever had owned, due the devastating floods that inundated the beautiful state of Kerala and the livelihood of millions last month.
