On Jun 10 2018, Satsang Center hosted a Gayatri Yagna.  The Gayatri Yagna was done in the tradition as delineated by the founder of  Gayatri Parivar  Param Pujya Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya.

The Satsang Center, located on 1 Pleasant St, Woburn, MA. “SATSANG means ASSOCIATION WITH TRUTH “in Speech, Thought & Action” to realize the TRUTH. The prime objective of the organization is to organize Satsang & Bhajan Programs and to promote the religious, cultural, charitable & educational activities” says Sudhir Parikh, the founding member of the Satsang Center.

The program was led by Ranjani Saigal. "It is indeed visionary that Pandit Shriram Acharya so many years ago has given the permission to everyone irrespective of caste or gender to lead and perform Yagyas", says Ranjani Saigal who is a female priest.

The event opened with bhajans and Ram dhun by Sudhir Parikh.  Deochand Patel, one of the core team members had set up the individual havan stations beautifully and decorated the hall.

Speaking of the essence of Yagya, Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya has said
“literally speaking, Yagya means - selfless sacrifice for noble purposes. Sacrificing ego, selfishness and material attachments and adopting rational thinking, humane compassion and dedicated creativity for the welfare of all - is indeed the best Yagya, which should be performed by all human beings. The philosophy of Yagya teaches a way of living in the society in harmony, a living style to promote and protect higher humane values in the society - which is indeed the basis of the ideal human culture”

Offering 108 Ahuthis with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra brought a glorious feeling in the mind and the hearts of the attendees. The event ended with Gayatri Aarti and delicious dinner prepared by the devotees.
