On Sunday, April 23rd, 75 guests from around Central Massachusetts came out to experience Classical Indian Music for Sitar and Tabla.

For many, the program was the first time they had seen and heard sitar and tabla in live performance.   The program was hosted by Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester where sitarist Usha Verma teaches; and included special guest Dr. Nishikant Sonwalkar playing Tabla.

The concert was held at All Saints Church, Pakachoag Music School’s new home as of 2018.  The school, formerly located in Auburn for 35 years prior to 2018, is currently undergoing a six month transition into Worcester, with studios on the 2nd and 3rd floors at All Saints which is located in close proximity of Worcester’s evolving Theater District.

Music School director Sarah Smongeski extended thanks to Ms. Verma and Dr. Nishikant for providing a most unique cultural and musical experience.  The program concluded with a brief question and answer opportunity.
