WORDS OF INSPIRATION BY SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

In CELEBRATION of Swami Vivekananda’s 144th Birthday !

He said that he will LIVE for EVER!  Definitely, his Fiery words to awaken our Sleeping Giant!

1. Get up, and put your shoulders to the WHEEL- how long is this LIFE for ? As you have come into existence into this world, leave some mark behind.  Otherwise, where is the difference between you and the trees and stones?  They too, come into existence, decay and die.

2.      2. We have wept long enough.  No more weeping, but stand up on your feet and be men.  It is man-making religion that we want.  It is man-making theories that we want.  It is man-making education all around that we want.

3.      3. This world is NOT for COWERDS.  Do not try to fly.  Look not for success or failure.  Join yourself to the perfectly unselfish WILL and work on.  Know that the mind which is born to succeed joins itself to a Determined WILL and perseveres.

4.      4. When there is conflict between the Heart and Mind, let the heart be followed.

       5. Think not that you are poor, money is not power, but goodness, holiness.

6.      6. Be brave, be brave !  Man dies but once.  My disciples must NOT be cowards.

7.      7. The faculty of organization is entirely absent in our nature, but this has to be infused.  The great secret is – the absence of jealousy.  Be always ready to concede to the opinions of your brethren, and try always to conciliate.  This is the whole secret!

8.      8. This I lay down as the first essential in all I teach:  Anything that brings spiritual, mental or physical weakness, touch it not with your feet.  (Reject as poison !) Religion is the manifestation of the Natural Strength that is in man.

9.      9. What the world wants is character.  The world is in need of those whose life is one burning LOVE, SELFLESS.  The love will make every word tell like thunderbolt.

      10. Bold words and bolder deeds are what we want.  Awake, awake, awake, great ones !.  The world is burning with misery.  Can you sleep ?   Let us call till the sleeping Gods awake, till the God within answers to the call.  What more is in life.

11  11. Try to expand.  Remember the only sign of life is motion and growth.

12  12. Give up the awful disease that is creeping into our national blood, that idea of ridiculing everything, that loss of seriousness.  Give that up.  Be strong and have this Shraddha (Faith), and everything is bound to follow.

13  13. Arise, awake and stop not till the desired end is reached !  Be NOT afraid, for all great power, throughout the history of Humanity, has been with the people.  From out of their ranks have come all the greatest geniuses of the world.

Namaruchi: An Ecstatic Taste Of The Divine

by K. Arvind
The grand festival known as “Nama Ruchi”, held at the Sri Chinmaya Maruti Temple on Dec. 30-31, brought to life the magic and joy of the practice of "nama sankeertana" - dwelling on the attributes of the divine through song and dance. The festival organized by Gnanananda Seva Samajam, USA, was based on the Indian bhajan tradition, and celebrated “Sri Radha Krishna Kalyanam”, the celestial wedding of Lord Krishna with Radha Devi.
