Inspirational Story of Srinath Sundar
Guru K.V.S.Vinya

Srinath Sundar (Sri) is an mid-range autistic youth who has been learning violin from me for about 6-7 years. He first learned from his father Dr. Sundar who continues to work with him very closely. Playing the violin is a huge part of Sri's core. His dad brought to me because he felt I could help expand his training and repertoire. Apparently even as a kid, he used to wait for Sundar to come back from surgery even if it was midnight so that he could play violin with his dad. Sri has recently graduated from Brookline High School. Apart from Carnatic violin, he was also fortunate to find a great teacher for western violin in recent years who has helped Sri and other autistic youth found a band called the MUSE foundation which performs around the Boston area. He has also been running 5Ks and marathons around to raise money for autism related causes and is now planning to run the Boston Marathon. Just last week he and his parents were in Nepal doing volunteer work in some orphanage.  Teaching Sri and knowing his parents Dr. Sundar and Dr. Sugantha has been a huge privilege in my life.  The family is constantly engaged in giving back.
