SWARAAG Lures Dynamic Talent With Spectacular Presentation To Crown 2017 Winners!

Press Release
12/01/2017

A sold out roaring crowd, a supreme presentation, a vigorous talent pool driven to excel, coupled with an elaborately dramatic stage set-up in a spanking new auditorium ensured a thrilling SwaRaag evening of entertainment.  Ten devoted choreographers brought their strong teams to set an impactful footprint on the elaborate SwaRaag stage. From New Jersey to New England contestants in Song and Dance categories brought on tough challenges, and Founder/President of SwaRaag Swathi Subramanian articulately weaved the audience through the variety of competitive Bollywood performances.

Duo Dance categories in both Juniors and Seniors brought hard challenges to the judges making it difficult to mark the top two. Whereas, Solo and Spot Dances in both age divisions gripped the audience. More talented young boys entered the SwaRaag stage this year bringing a nuance of attitude and style. Elaborate themes dominated the dances, where group dance teams spent weeks working on handmade props with dramatic scenery to bring to life a theatre effect. One team even had a full chariot pulled on stage carrying a prince and impactful they were. Dazzling Moms category opened last year even paved way for some enthusiastic Dads.

Lokvani founder Ranjani Saigal remarked ‘I am so impressed at how year after year you work so hard to support all the talent in the community. You have really made this quite a gold standard concert.’ Several contestants and their parents also expressed how prestigious they found it to present and be a part of the SwaRaag platform.

Ms. Swathi Subramanian shared ‘I was stunned to see the great pains parents of individual and group performances had taken to raise the level of the presentation. Presentation, Props, Energy – all strived at. It must have been hours and weeks of planning and creative building. We are so proud to showcase each one of them at SwaRaag. Our huge thanks to the choreographers - Bina Negandhi, Devika Dhawan, Jai Kishan, Jasmine Shah, Shaila Verma, Ananya Venkatesan, Vaijayanthi Gopalakrishnan, Jyothi Setty, Smriti Gupta who brought their unique styles to the SwaRaag stage. Our very special thanks to eClinicalWorks for sponsoring the trophies and supporting our event – their support went a very long way!’

This well organized program with perfect execution was only thanks to the efficient team of SwaRaag Rockstars – Anandini Sekhar, Asha Manish, Shobha Shastry, Gopi Bala, Hiral Parikh, Christy Mathew, Shikha Bajpai, Sandhya Dasu, Sainath Varikuti, Meena Subramanian, Vaibhav Dabade and Swathi Subramanian.
