Press Release
10/26/2017

OM NAMAH SHIVAYA!

The month of Karthika is very auspicious for worshiping Lord Shiva. To bestow blessings upon everyone in the community, Shri Sai Samadhi Mandir (Shri Dwarkamai Inc) is organizing Sahasra Linga Archana Pooja in New England area on Saturday, November 4th ' 2017 at Nashua High School North on the auspicious Karthika Poornima day.

For the first time in New England region, a Pooja will be performed on 1,116 Shiva Lingas. Shri Dwarkamai cordially invites all the devotees to join this Grand event and take blessings from Lord Shiva Parvati.

This event entry is FREE and open to ALL to be a part of this big event and witness this once in a lifetime unique ritual being performed which has never been done in the New England Area of Sahasra Lingarchana (1,116 Spatik (Quartz stone) Lingas) at 5PM.

Performing of Rudra Abhishekam:
Most of the Lord Shiva temples perform the Ekadasa Rudra Abhishekam on Karthika Poornima while chanting the Rudra Chamakam and Rudra Namakam Eleven times. A cleansing ritual by reciting the Mahanyasam is performed before the Ekadasa Rudra Abhishekam.

As per the Vedas and Vedic knowledge passed on through centuries, performing the Ekadasa Rudra Abhishekam on Karthika Poornima, will lead peace, happiness and prosperity in the community.

All are welcome to be part of chanting the Rudra Chamakam and Rudra Namakam.

As per the Hindu mythology, it was on Karthika Poornima that Lord Shiva killed the demon Tripurasura and hence the name Tripura Poornima or Tipurari Poornima.

Vaikuntha Chaturdashi is a sacred day which is observed a day before Karthika Poornima. This day has a special significance as devotees get an opportunity to offer their prayers to both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva together. While Lord Vishnu is worshiped at midnight (Nishitha), Lord Shiva is worshiped at dawn (Arunodaya). It is a belief that on this day both the deities had paid homage to each other; Lord Vishnu had offered Tulsi leaves to Lord Shiva while Lord Shiva had offered Bel (Bilva Patra) leaves to Lord Vishnu.

The prayers offered to the God, fasts done (only if health permits) and contributions made to charities, temples, during Karthika Poornima gives a devotee the same benefits as that of performing Ashwamedha Yagya.
