Serendipity! That was it. My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance on a snowy chilly evening and was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and the superb taste of the dishes that we ordered at this place. The restaurant is located in Belmont center and is tiny but elegant with a simple decor. Kashish means attraction and the restaurant promises to fulfill your desire to the fine flavor, aroma and visual beauty of Indian Cuisine.

There are variety of dishes offered some new and some old favorites. The new dishes that seemed very interesting were the Tomato Coconut Soup, chicken Tikka salad, Chicken Celery chaat, and lamb masala dosa. The tandoors are a speciality here and they include Tandoori Salmon Tikka, Tandoori Rack of lamb and Shakahari Grill.

We ordered for Bhel puri, followed by Paneer Bhuna and Dal Makhani with Naans. The service, I must mention is excellent and we were first served with pappads in a basket followed by an assortment of chutneys of green mint and cilantro, red onions and brown tamarind and date chutney. I broke a piece of pappad and dipped it in the mint chutney and the flavor was excellent. The freshness of the ingredients was incredible. Pleased with this, we followed it up with the Bhelpuri. The Paneer Bhuna , was a classic dish with fresh homemade cheese roasted with onions, tomatoes and laced with green peppers. The Dal Makhani, of black lentils, onions, fresh garlic and thin long ginger slices had an authentic Punjabi touch to it.

All entrees were served with rice and Chutney and the only disappointment was the quality of the rice served which lacked a flavor. The Naans were soft and freshly baked. You can actually watch the chef in action through a transparent glass window while you are eating. The serving size was generous for each dish. There is a fine selection of wines in the list and desserts include ice creams like Doaba kulfi and Mango Bahar. I would definitely make a visit there again if I had a choice.
