Indian Americans Of Lexington To Celebrate Diwali Mela

Indian Americans of Lexington (IAL) is celebrating its 2017 Diwali Mela on October 21st at Lexington High School. Diwali (also "Deepavali") — the festival of lights — is one of the biggest festivals in India and is truly pan-Indian. Indian Americans of Lexington has been conducting the Diwali Fest since 1995. IAL Diwali celebration has been one of the most popular events in the Lexington community and around, drawing over 500 attendees with the past few years being sold out. 

 

This year, to enhance the festivities and add additional attendees we have increased our capacity and now expect around 800 strong for IAL Diwali Mela. The Diwali Mela includes a variety of cultural programs by kids and adults, activities for kids and mouthwatering Indian street food. 

 

When : 21st October 2017 3:00 - 9:00 PM

Where : Lexington High School , Lexington , MA

Event details are as follows:

  • Entry tickets for the IAL Diwali Mela are priced at $15 per person for anyone 6 years and older, kids 5 years and under do not require entry tickets for this event.
  • Food is available for purchase at the event (Cash Only)- food includes Indian cuisine catered by “One World Cuisine”  and Pizza for kids 
  • Fun activities for kids.

A hilarious evening full of Vyang and humorous poetry was organized on October 3rd at the Academy of Creative Arts. The fun-filled evening drew packed audiences of nearly 270 wanting to give it all up and laugh and enjoy in the company of good friends, good food and of course fun poetry.
