Shri Dwarkamai Sports Team Successfully Organized Their

Second Annual Cricket Tournament

Shri  Dwarkamai Sports Team is proud to have organized their Second Annual Cricket Tournament  at the center street field in Burlington, MA on the 16th and 17th of September 2017.      The Six-a-Side Annual Cricket Tournament was organized to benefit The Boston Children’s Hospital.

The communities from all around the greater Boston neighborhood were invited to participate at the tournament and we had 14 teams registered to play. All 14 teams participated on September16th, in the initial round of cricket games. Qualified teams came back on September 17th to play the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Finals.

 All the matches were played with good spirit and every player exhibited his sportsmanship in the best manner. We appreciate all the participants for having come forward to exhibit their talents for a great cause. We were able to  raise $750 from this year's Cricket Tournament and this will be donated to the Boston Children’s Hospital.  Hats off  to the volunteers of our Dwarkamai Sports Team for coming together and making this event happen and bring forth huge success. Three cheers to all the participants of the 14 Cricket Teams who shared their strength and spirit and made this Tournament a great success.

The  feedback received from all our participants in regards to our Second Annual Cricket Tournament was very encouraging. The organizers were very well appreciated for their efficiency and  execution of the Tournament.

A very special thanks to Brendan Egan, Burlington Recreation Director, for renting the field at a nominal  cost  to benefit this great cause. We also extend our thanks to Nancy Santilli from Burlington Recreation.

The teams the participated at the tournament are :

Andover Cricket Club, Billerica Boys, Burning Bush, Dangal, Galli Cricketers, Lagaan Bat & Bowl,  Lamplighters, Mass Maulers, Mass Ghillies 1, Mass Ghillies 2, Mass Ghillies 3,  New England Strikers,      Six Pack,  and V6.

Highest Scorer in a Single Match : Suhas Bhanushali of Lagaan Bat & Ball Team (66 runs in 18 balls).

Man of the Series : Ajay Sharma of Six Packs team (for consistent & excellent bowling and batting).

We will see everyone again next year at our 2018 Dwarkamai Cricket Tournament with a bigger bang.
