NESSP Engages Community Members Around Upcoming Groton Temple

Press Release
09/14/2017

New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (NESSP) has started to develop a friendship with the people of Groton, whether it is from the young to the elderly. On Tuesday, September 12, some representatives went to the Groton Senior Center to connect with a bond and inform the town about what is going to occur in the midst of November. They were kindly welcomed and were supported by a very interested crowd.

The senior citizens were presented with many charitable programs that the temple participates in to help the community. For example, the temple hosts a back to school drive every year to supply the kids who are not able to afford backpacks and such supplies. NESSP also participates in several runs and walks to help raise funds for hospitals. Some of the representatives also entitled the main goal of the temple which is to provide the best service to the community and society. This temple welcomes everyone to be part of this “parivaar” or family, regardless of their background and faith. Everyone is encouraged to join and be part of NESSP. Most of the attendees were very excited to participate in the Inauguration celebrations starting from Nov 19th to 25th and cultural programs on Nov.26th.

After the presentation, many questions were asked toward the eagerness of the temple. A senior citizen had asked how is the temple run? One of the representatives had said that the New England Shirdi Sai Temple is totally run off of the help of volunteers and the temple is completely devotee based. A question was asked about how many are involved in helping to run the temple. The response was given as the temple is run by numerous volunteers with 8000 devotees connected with this temple.

The New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar highly thanks the Groton town for such an opportunity to create this bond and highly looks forward to being part of Groton.
