Inner Engineering is a synthesis of several tools tailored for each individual and transmitted as a live subjective method. It promotes beneficial changes in one’s inner chemistry to accelerate the release of physical, mental and emotional blocks. The program includes an initiation into the ancient Shambhavi Mahamudra, a powerful kriya (inner energy process).

These technologies for wellbeing are presented in a modern-day format to suit the needs of every individual in various spheres of life. Inner Engineering and its vernacular language counterpart Isha Yoga are available as 7-day programs, as a 4-day Retreat program at the Isha Yoga Center, and as two-and-a-half-day mega programs attended by over 10,000 people. How the Body Works

The whole system of yoga is based on the spine. Many of our vital functions are regulated by the spine through the autonomic nervous system. There are two components of this system: the sympathetic nervous system (survival response) and the parasympathetic nervous system (restful response). These systems function in a complementary manner – when one is on, the other is off. When the mind perceives a threat, the body reacts by releasing hormones which speed up the heart rate, slow down digestion, increase the breathing rate and muscle contraction preparing the body to fight or flee from danger. However in modern times, this response can even be triggered by traffic, conflicts with others, or any stressful situations. On a regular basis, stress hormones flow into our bodies for events that pose no real threat to our physical survival causing damage to the body over time.

A survey of Shambhavi Kriya practitioners found that doing these practices for a minimum of one year had significant mental and emotional benefits.

Shambhavi Kriya alleviates chronic ailments.

Many common chronic ailments such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and digestive disorders can be linked to an overactive ‘survival’ response. This program includes Isha Upa Yoga & Shambhavi Maha Mudra practices. Program is conducted at the end of the day on Thursday & Friday followed by two full days on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided on Sunday. Sunday program for both locations will happen at Chelmsford.
