Lokvani College Admissions Workshops

Lokvani and AcceptU (www.AcceptU.com), a local college counseling group comprised of former admissions officers will be offering two free workshops, “Inside the College Admissions Office,” on Sunday, September 24. 

• Lexington: 2 pm – 3:30 pm at the Elks Lodge (959 Waltham Street)

• Westford: 5 pm – 6:30 pm at St. Mark’s Episcopal (75 Cold Spring Road). 

Join Anil Saigal, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts University, and Marc Zawel, author of Untangling the Ivy League, as they provide insight into how admissions decisions are made and what parents can do to improve their child’s chances. 

Appropriate for families of middle and high school students in grades 6– 12, you will learn:

• How college admissions offices review applications.
• Ways applicants can “stand out” and be more compelling and memorable.
• Why college admissions officers reject “brilliant but boring” applicants.
• What the most important factors are in admissions decisions.
• Bottom line actionable advice you can implement today to help your child.

SETU's Kamala - Fundraiser For Ekal


SETU, a non-profit community theater group presented the famous Vijay Tendulkar play “Kamala”, a complex tale that weaves several women’s right issues holding the flesh trade of tribal women at its core. SETU used the play as a fundraiser for to support the running of single teacher schools in remote rural villages in India. SETU partnered with IAGB and Ekal for this effort.
