Sachin has paved his way, with his umpteen effort and accomplishments to become a legendary cricket star who is revered across a country, where cricket is not a game but rather considered as a religion and it was only time that a film got made on Sachin Tendulkar, the very man who, single-handedly brought laurels and glories galore to India. The resultant of all this was in the form of a film named Sachin: A Billion Dreams, which has been based on the life of Sachin Tendulkar. A grand premiere was organized for Sachin: A Billion Dreams. The who's who of the country got together to watch the special screening of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's biography Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend has raked in a whopping 10 crores of moolah at the box office on its day one.  This is Shraddha's fourth best opening after Ek Villain, ABCD 2 and Baaghi, also withstanding the fact that all these films opened to a two digit number, which is a rare feat for anyone who has just started in the industry some time back.

From television to the big screen, Sushant Singh Rajput has really come a long way in his career and the actor has left no stone unturned to achieve this success. For every film he takes on, Sushant puts in his blood and sweat into adapting the mannerisms of the character he is playing. Be it learning the craft of cricket to play India's former captain MS Dhoni or picking up Bengali nuances in order to play the role of Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Sushant Singh Rajput has always been known to get into the skin of the character he plays! For Dhoni, Sushant had to put in his all to play the role of India's former captain. He visited Dhoni's friends and coach in Ranchi to get a better insight into his life and trained extensively to portray captain cool on screen.

In the run-up to the release of 'Jagga Jasoos', Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were supposed to shoot a special track to be used for promotions. However, the duo's busy schedule has forced the makers to do away with it. Ranbir is busy with the Sanjay Dutt biopic while Katrina is filming for 'Tiger Zinda Hai' in Abu Dhabi.

Nandita Das gave a glimpse of her directorial venture, Manto, at the Cannes Film festival on Monday night. Based on the life of Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto (1912-1955), it has Nawazuddin Siddiqui play the titular role and Rasika Dugal as his wife, Safia. The event was held at the HP Studio at Le Majestic at the French Riviera. Speaking from Cannes, Nandita said, "We showed some footage to set the tone of the film. Later, Nawaz read a few passages of Manto's work in Urdu while I did the English translations. I had selected certain portions from his writings that reflect his thoughts on art, literature and freedom of expression. Lyricist Swanand Kirkire, who is also part of the film and at Cannes, attended the event. We even showed a short film on the the making of Manto."
