The Indian Americans for Burlington has received the approval from the town to have a tree lighting ceremony for Diwali in the Burlington Commons. A historical first, this event will be held on October 15, 2017 at the Town Commons. The Commons will remain lit for two weeks during Diwali.

North South Foundation (NSF) Regional Contests 2017

2017 marks the 25th year that NSF has held the educational bees here in the US. The Worcester chapter competition was held at Fitchburg State University with close to 400 kids participating in Math, Geography, Spelling, Vocabulary, Essay Writing and Public Speaking.

Sivaram Emani Named 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholar


Sivaram (Siva) Emani from Newton, MA was named a 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholar from Massachusetts. The prestigious award is considered to be the nation’s highest academic honor for a graduating high school senior. Siva is a senior at The Roxbury Latin School and will be attending Harvard University in the fall.

Thirty four community organizations came together and held a panel discussion to address local racism on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the MIT Wong Auditorium in Cambridge, MA. The event was attended by over 200 people.
