21st Annual India Poetry Reading This Sunday At Harvard University

India Discovery Center in association with the Department of South Asian Studies and the South Asia Institute of Harvard University invites you to the 21st Annual India Poetry Reading event scheduled for Sunday, May 14, 2 PM, at Tsai Auditorium, 1730 Cambridge Street, Cambridge.  http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/harvard-events/events-calendar/#/?i=2  The event celebrates the ninth anniversary of South Asian Poets of New England (SAPNE) that brings together the poets and writers from the Indian subcontinent in organizing quarterly poetry events in the greater Boston area.http://southasiapoets.wixsite.com/sapne

The topic for this year’s assembly is “Truth”.  Thirty poets will read their compositions in various languages of the Indian subcontinent.  The topic “Truth” would be considered from various angles through its concept, practice and search.  Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Oriya, Telugu, Tamil, and English languages will be represented.  The readers would offer a translation in English for help in understanding and dissemination.

Admission to the program is free.  For security reasons, doors will close at 2 PM.  Street parking in Cambridge is free on Sundays; please allow fifteen minutes for parking.  A reception hosted by the South Asia Institute will follow at 5 PM.  All are invited.
