Desai Foundation To Host Spring Garba

On Saturday, May 13th, join the Desai Foundation in an evening of raas garba dance, traditional Gujarati music, & dinner in celebration of spring! SPRING GARBA will be taking place at the Hilton Boston- Woburn at 7pm. The illustrious DJ Yogz will be spinning the beats for you and your friends to dance the new season in!

100% of your $25 ticket admission will go directly to the Desai Foundation's vocational programs for rural women in Gujarat. The Desai Foundation offers sewing classes, computer classes, sanitary napkin making and sales programs, along with many other vocational programs to ensure that every rural woman has the opportunity to dream beyond their circumstances.

Women are the backbone of any community. Supporting women is essential to overall growth, as 90% of what women earn is invested back into their community. So come start spring on a positive note, supporting women back in India and celebrating with the Boston desi community! Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance for you and your friends and family, as they are selling quickly and will be $30 at the door instead of $25.

Diwali Tree Lighting In Burlington, MA


The Indian Americans for Burlington has received the approval from the town to have a tree lighting ceremony for Diwali in the Burlington Commons. A historical first, this event will be held on October 15, 2017 at the Town Commons. The Commons will remain lit for two weeks during Diwali.

North South Foundation (NSF) Regional Contests 2017

2017 marks the 25th year that NSF has held the educational bees here in the US. The Worcester chapter competition was held at Fitchburg State University with close to 400 kids participating in Math, Geography, Spelling, Vocabulary, Essay Writing and Public Speaking.
