Carrying on the lineage of India’s most popular and legendary actor/comedian, Jagdeep, Jaaved burst on the Indian cinema screens in 1985. The first Indian Youth entertainment channel, ‘Channel V’ had hugely popular shows like VIDEOCON FLASHBACK and TIMEX TIMEPASS anchored by Jaaved  incorporating trademark puns, impersonations, characters, accents, and introducing the now ubiquitous HINGLISH to Indian audiences.

This flagged off his foray into the Indian Television scene and soon Jaaved co-founded and judged India’s first ever dance reality show BOOGIE WOOGIE which has broken records and is Asia's longest running dance show covering 17 years- A fact recorded in the Limca Book of Records. The show opened the doorway to tens of thousands of dancers in India, from the biggest of cities to the smallest of towns and villages.

Jaaved has also been a noted singer and voice artist with a signature baritone that a generation of Indians grew up on. His performance in the song ‘Mumbhai’ from the film  BOMBAY BOYS, which was conceived, written, choreographed by him, gained a cult status among the youngsters and was number 1 on the charts for 6 weeks.

In addition to the above he has also dubbed for Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Sher Khan and Don Carnage in Hindi for Disney.

Scripted the Hindi version of Disney’s JUNGLE BOOK 2 and Pixar’s THE INCREDIBLES along with lending his voice to principal characters.

His character as CHARLIE ANNA in the first full fledged commercial animated film ROADSIDE ROMEO (a collaborative effort of YashRaj films and Disney) was highly appreciated.

His commentary on the famous Japanese TV show TAKESHI'S CASTLE on Pogo TV has also garnered a huge cult fan following not only with kids but also adults.

He also produced a young  and trendy film  LET'S ENJOY (2003) and the Socially and politically impactful Documentary INSHALLAH FOOTBALL which won the National Award in 2012 and INSHALLAAH KASHMIR which won the National Award in 2013.
