Problems from 02/16/17

Problem 1:
You have 6 black socks and 6 white socks in a drawer.  They are exactly same except color.  You need to pick up a pair of socks without looking into the drawer.  What is the minimum number of socks you need to draw to be certain that you have a pair of matching socks.

Problem 2:
In the problem above, what is the minimum  socks you need to draw so that you more than 50% certain that you have all black socks?
