Raj and Prem Goyal Award for Rising Star in Medicine

Goyal Family Charitable Foundation and Lokvani.com invite applications for the “Raj and Prem Goyal Award for Rising Star in Medicine”.   The Award in the amount of $1,000 will be given to two talented sophomore or junior college students who have received an offer for a summer research position.  The students must be US citizens or permanent resident and must have an intention to apply to medical school after graduation. 

To apply for the scholarship, please send the following to RPGAward@lokvani.com

1. Resume, highlighting academic achievements
2. Offer letter for a summer research position
3. One page summary of current research interest and future career aspirations
4. Recommendation letter from a faculty member. 

The nominations must be received on or before April 30, 2017. Late submissions will not be accepted.  A three member committee will select the awardees. The award will be announced on May 31, 2017

A Panel Discussion On Building Alliances To Combat Hate

IAFPE is hosting an panel discussion with Police Commissioner Evans and other leaders to address the concerns of the South Asian community that has recently been the target of hate crimes. The event is co-hosted by MIT India program, will be held on May 6 at the Wong Auditorium, MIT at 1:30 pm.

A Musical Celebration Of Saints

Spring this year at the Hindu Temple of New Hampshire, Nashua, NH is turning out to be a musical celebration of the saints and Gurus of various Hindu traditions. The celebration started with a Ugadi concert by Vidwan Sri R K Padmanabha dedicated to Sri Raghavendra Swami in early April. It will conclude in early May with a unique concert and lecture demonstration on the works of the great Tamil saints from a millennium ago by Prof. Sri Vaithialingam and Vidwan Sri Kodilingam.

After several hit sold out shows such as Khandan-e-Kapoor, Badhshah-e-Romance and last year’s “A musical journey with Hrishikesh Mukherjee”, Mohan Subramaniam and his team brought you another hit musical program on April 22, 2017 -- "Awaaz-e–Jazbaat Shankar Jaikishan ke Saath".
