Maha Shivratri At New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar

New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (NESSP) is celebrating Maha Shivratri on Feb 24th, 2017. On this auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, NESSP will be performing Mahanyasa Poorvaka Rudrabhishekam and Sahasra Lingarchana and conducting Nrityanjali program on 25th Feb, 2017.

On 24th Feb, the program starts at 7 PM and continues till midnight. MahaShivratri is celebrated at night, as this night stands as "Overcoming darkness and ignorance" in one's life and the world through Lord Shiva. Temple priests will be conducting Mahanyasa poorvaka Rudrabhishekam along with 11 Ritviks in chanting the Rudram. Also, Sahasra Lingarchana is a unique vedic ritual to worship offered to Lord Shiva. It is performed by making 1,116 mruthika(Clay) Shiva Lingas . All these Shiva Lingas are arranged in the form of Kailasa prastharam . Shiva Shakti is invoked into each Shiva Lingam through vedic mantras during Shodasa Aavarana puja and worshiped with great devotion followed by Abhishekam to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for health, wealth, prosperity, bliss and ultimate mukthi.

As part of the Shivratri celebrations, NESSP is conducting ita annual Nrityanjali program. This year under 22 Dance Guru's supervision, 200 plus students are going to perform in front of Lord Shiva and Sadguru Sai Baba. This program will stand as longest ever (duration) in the history of NESSP. NESSP cordially invites one and all to encourage the kids.

Bhandara will be served on.24th evening and all day on 25th.

Upcoming events: Ramayana sessions, Bhagavadgeeta classes, Holi celebrations.

NESSP is an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs for last nine years. In addition to temple related activities, NESSP also believes in helping the community that its part of. The organization has an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. The different charitable activities NESSP has undertaken in the past are: Disaster Relief, Annadaan (food donation) to the homeless, Winter Clothes drive Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy. Red Cross Blood donation drives, Lowell General hospital cancer center walks. NESSP Conducts Free health camp and Dental camps, Meditation and Yoga sessions. For kids, NESSP Conducts chess classes, Annual Academic competitions. NESSP is run by a dedicated team of volunteers.

NESSP is building a SAI temple at Groton-MA on the principles of Faith and Patience. With SAI blessings it happens to be the largest Sai temple of North America with the abode of Hindu Deities. NESSP planning to inaugurate the new temple in Summer-2017
