The India Association of Greater Boston hosted the semifinals for the IAGB Antakshari competition. The battle was intense and finally four teams emerged ready to move on to the final rounds that will be held on January 28, 2017.

Aditi Taylor, the architect of the IAGB Antakshari and her cohorts Vaishali Gade, Lata Rao, Monisha Prakash, Netra Rajnikanth and others worked hard to make this a professional competition.

The first round of the competition required competitors to sing a song that starts with the last letter of the previous song. In the second round, the Antara was played and teams had to sing the Mukhada. In the third round a slight video was played and teams had to guess the song. In the  4th round the contestants were given clues to identify songs and in the final round one member of the team was given the first few words of the song that they had to act out and let the other team member guess the song.

The teams not only had to get the songs write but also had to have the exact lyrics.  It was amazing to see how much knowledge the teams had about Bollywood and the songs.  It was obvious they had spent much time growing up with the Bollywood and its music.  It also was gratifying to note that they were very successful people who despite spending time with pop culture had done well in life. So to parents who tell their kids not to watch TV, may be it is now time to say, please do watch. It is not so bad. After all one day when you grow up you may be the winner in a pop culture show!

The winners were  Team Burmaniacs - Anish Desai & Krishna Desai, Team Surile Iyers - Vidya Iyer & Prakash Iyer, Team Atom Bomb - Namita Deshpande & Prag Singh, Team Let's Nacho w Cheese - Santosh Rao & Yogitha Parayil Thakoor.

Other participants were
Team Dostana - Nandish Desai & Neha Ghalsasi
Team Rock On - Krishan Aneja & Vasudha Kudrimoti
Team Jhankar - Pratibha Shah & Bhanu Vadhera
Team PPAP - Preetesh Shrivastava & Pratibha Krishnamurthy
Team Music Junkies - Nisha Kaul & Ankush Kaul
Team Aid Asha - Shilpa Shetty Atnoor & Asha Thotangare
