NESSP Celebrates Guru Charitra Parayan - Sai Palkhi - Sai Homam

A Happy Guru Poornima to all the readers.

NESSP-New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar , celebrated Guru poornima on July 19th with full fervor. The event started by performing Samuhik SaiVrat katha and Baba abhishek. Families participated in SaiVrat katha and performed the vrat with devotion and shraddha under the guidance of priest. Temple was thronged by devotees in the evening with 600 + devotees performed dhoop aarti and took blessings of Baba.  Melodious Bhajans were rendered to the glory of lord and it was followed by Special Bhandara cooked by volunteers.

AS part of the week long celebrations of Guru Poornima, Guru Charitra Parayan will be read on July 23rd, Saturday, starting at 7 AM, This will be followed by Sai Homam and conclusion of the 8 week Palkhi  program followed by Bhandara.

New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar celebrated Sai Palkhi Utasaav-2016 for 8 weeks starting from May 21st through July 17th. The Palkhi procession went to 190 devotee houses across the states of  Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire. The Palkhi procession conclusion will be celebrated on July 23rd at New England Shirdi Sai Temple, Chelmsford. On the same day, Akhanda Guru charitra Parayan read after Kakad aarti and will continued until evening and followed by Sai Homam.

The 8 week long Sai Palkhi Utsaav festival is celebrated by NESSP every year. During this festival around 40 volunteer families managed to run the entire Palkhi procession smoothly on weekends. The presence of Sai is felt at each home as the atmosphere is charged with divine adoration, as the volunteers and devotees singing aloud the glory of the God and Sadguru.

NESSP is an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs for last nine years. NESSP is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. In addition to temple related activities, NESSP has an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. The different charitable activities NESSP has undertaken in the past are: Disaster Relief, Annadaan (food donation) to the homeless, Winter Clothes drive – Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy, Blood donation drives, Teamwalks and backpack drives. NESSP Conducts monthly once Free health camps,  Dental camps,  and weekly free Yoga sessions. For kids, NESSP Conducts chess classes, Annual Academic competitions.

NESSP is building a Permanent Sai Temple at Groton-MA and planning to Inaugurate by end of this year. The construction is in full speed and is looking for contributions from the community for the Phase I completion.
