The Iconic Avatar

The Littleton High School Theater, Littleton, MA

All proceeds benefit the visually disadvantaged

Following in the footsteps of the dazzlingly brilliant, sold-out dance productions Ramayana, Krishna, Justice of the Anklet, Nine Pathways to Devotion, Slaying of the Demons, The Dancer’s Pledge and Samprati-Beyond Time, the Vision-Aid team is delighted to present "The Iconcic Avatar”, an epic dance ballet based on the quintessential Ramayana, as retold by the great Tamil poet Kamban. This production is an exquisite exploration of the universal themes of love, devotion, courage, compassion and surrender, woven together by the masterful genius of renowned choreographer Mr. Madurai R Muralidaran, and will bring together the finest dance talent from Boston. 

English narration will make this wonderful show accessible and enjoyable for all!

About the Producer
The concept and choreography for this production are by Madurai R. Muralidaran of Chennai, India, a renowned dance choreographer who has won critical acclaim for his creations in Bharatanatyam. He has over 300 compositions to his credit, including his most recent Boston productions, Slaying of the Demons (2012) and The Dancer's Pledge (2014), which still has audiences in Boston talking!

The Co-Producers

The producer is ably supported by co-producers Jeyanthi Ghatraju, Sujatha Meyyappan and Sripriya Natarajan Moorthy, who have presented many unique productions including Krishna, Justice of the Anklet, Navrasa Nayika, Nine Pathways to Devotion, The Dancer’s Pledge, and others. Dance teacher and former co-producer Ranjani Saigal provides valuable advisory support.

On a warm and breezy afternoon of June 18th, the audience was swathed in divine music coming from the very soul of the musicians that came together to benefit Ekal Vidyalaya. The musical ensemble comprised of Boston based musicians with special musical guests from New Delhi, India! Husband and wife duo Raghuraman Govindarajan (Carnatic flute) and Sudha Raghuraman (vocal) were featured artistes joining artistic excellence with Aparna Balaji (vocal), K.V.S. Vinay (Carnatic violin), Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan (mridangam) and Amit Kavthekar (Tabla) to create a fabulous blend of Carnatic and Hindustani music.

CIF's annual fundraiser on June 11th featured 3 segments, instruments by Smt. Durga Krishnan on Veena and her students from New England School of Carnatic Music, accompanied by Sri. Pravin Sitaram on Mridangam and Sri. Rajesh Pai on Tabla, Vocal Carnatic music by Smt. Aparna Balaji and her students from Abhyaas School of Music accompanied by Sri.Pravin Sitaram on Mridangam and Smt. Smitha Krishnan on violin and a dance performance by Smt. Sapna Krishnan and her students from Lasya School of Dance.

Indian Americans for Burlington (IAB) participated in the Annual "Burlington Pride Parade" sponsored by American Legions.
