Shri Dwarkamai Vidhyapeeth Welcomes Hindu New Year With All Day Bhajan Utsav

Every year Shri Dwarkamai Vidyapeeth of North Billerica hosts Annual Bhajan Utsav in the week of Vasantha Navaratri to welcome the beginning of spring or Hindu New Year. This event is a series of bhajan mala performed by different devotional groups/classical music teachers leading to formation of all day bhajan utsav. This year’s event was conducted on April 9th with enthusiastic participation of local music groups/teachers for the entire day.

The morning segment of the bhajan Utsav was started by blissful offering of Soundarya Lahiri Bhajan group followed by Smt. Preeti Chakravarty and students classical compositions in Raga Yaman, Bhoopali and many more. This was followed by Thirupugal Anbargal Boston bhajan Group Carnatic devotional songs in praise to Lord Muruga. The bhajan mala continued in the afternoon with the devotional offering by Satya Sai group of Boston. The group had lot of enthusiastic members of all ages and presented wide variety of soulful devotional songs. 

Enthusiastic young Carnatic music students of Hamsa Gayatri Music Academy sang many devotional songs with lots of joy. Acton Sloka group kids and teachers continued the bhajan mala adding cheer and delight by their offerings at the lotus feet of Shri Sai. This was followed by peaceful devotional bhajans by the Chinmaya Swaranjali Boston group and Avatar group. The program concluded with melodious performances of students of Abhyaas School of music under the able guidance of their Guru Smt. Aparna Balalji.
 
The whole day bhajan utsav from 9am to 9pm had over 125 participants, bringing in lots of positive energy and joyous beginning of the Hindu New Year. Dwarkamai ‘Thanks’ to all the participants and the volunteers to make the event successful. Dwarkamai is an nonprofit organization actively engaged in organizing health, social, spiritual workshops and events benefiting all. 

Shri Dwarkamai Vidhyapeeth will be starting auspicious Balaji Pranapratistha Mahotsav on Akshaya Tritiya, May 9 with Jaladhivasam Utsav for 48 days followed by Lord Balaji Pranapratistha pooja on July 14,15 and 16. For further details or events visit: https://www.dwarkamai.com/vidyapeeth/
