Problem 1

A game of numbers has cards marked with 11,12,13, ...., 40.  A card is drawn at random.  What is the probability that the number on card drawn is perfect square. 

Problem 2

A plane at an altitude 1500 feet finds that two ships are sailing towards it in the same direction. The angles as observed from the plane are 45 and 30 degrees respectively. What is the distance between the two ships.

Find a Fibonacci number whose decimal representation ends in nine nines?

Problem 2

A swimmer jumps from a bridge over a canal and swims 1 mile upstream. After that first kilometer, he passes a floating cork. He continues swimming for another hour and then turns around and swims back to the bridge. The swimmer and the cork arrive at the bridge at the same time. The swimmer has been swimming with constant speed. How fast does the water in the canal flow?
